OSHA Compliance

July 24th, 2009

Comprehensive Safety Management LLC, plus the support of other Partners within the Consortium, provides the peace of mind to employers in terms of handling the OSHA interface.  We encourage all employers to establish, in advance, an environment that precludes adverse outcomes to OSHA unplanned visits.  We provide the following resources that work with rather than against governmental agency intervention:

  • establishing requisite files for review by the OSHA officer
  • training of Safety Department Management in all aspects of the OSHA interface
  • for small businesses we function as your OSHA advisor and respondent
  • knowledge of and understanding of the “Top OSHA 11”
  • Right-to-Know training in a cost-effective manner
  • partners in preparing for OSHA consultations

We familiarize your business with the metrics that reduce fines and penalties according to the OSHA Field Operations Manual (FOM).  The FOM provides that proposed penalties will be reduced by the following percentages in considering employer size:

  • a 60% penalty reduction may be applied if an employer has 25 employees or fewer;
  • 40% if the employer has 26-100 employees; and
  • 20% if the employer has 101-250 employees

We teach you and your staff how to develop a true business relationship based upon mutual cooperation and fostering a safe and healthy work environment.  Implementing an accident prevention program will allow a small business to learn first hand that the cost of the accident prevention is far lower than the cost of accidents.
